Musings From The Performer’s Mastery November 2015

As long as I’ve been involved with the Performer’s Mastery as a co leader with the eminently talented workshop leader and actress Linda Darlow, it has always been and will continue to be a valuable learning experience. One of the things I know about me is that I like acknowledgement. This past workshop was a step toward further growth for me.

I enjoyed all the moments I got to press myself and expand as a workshop leader, and really did more this time around than in previous. I’m typically the “good cop” in this relationship, but I certainly pulled out some “bad cop” and I wore it well.

As I trusted myself more to step up and step in when needed, I felt my energy and self-trust grow. It was also a tremor felt in the room, as I demonstrated that I can be a force to be reckoned with, and without doing harm to another.

I feel proud that I am involved with something as significant as the Performer’s Mastery workshop, because I keep telling actors I work with, be they students or colleagues or both, that we are brilliant when we allow ourselves to be fully expressive in our work and our lives, which for actors is many times one and the same.

This simple entry is a forerunner to future musings, with anecdotes and insights. As I move forward with updating and maintaining the website I will muse from time to time on some new information I stumble upon or some amusing anecdote about what happened either inside or around the workshop.

See you at the March 2016 Performer’s Mastery!
